At Totara School, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality programmes for Primary & Intermediate aged students (Years 1 to 8).
We are a small community, focused on building a family-like atmosphere for our students. We take pride in the leadership opportunities we offer our students and in the high achievement results, we produce consistently.
Totara School is only a 5-minute drive from town and has a mix of students from the surrounding area as well as a number from Oamaru township.
The school provides bus service for all students. This bus service also links with the after school OSCAR programme.
There is a bus for those who are within the current school area. Pearsons also provide a bus for those students from town who come to our school but this is not provided by school. Parents should contact Pearsons directly to find out the cost of using this service.

Mōrena everyone
Just a couple of quick reminders for today. Part of Fortification Road is closed today. Access to school is only from the main Alma-Maheno (SH1) only for the day.
We also are attending a fantastic Kapa Haka performance at the Ōamaru Opera House this. morning. We are leaving by bus just after 9 a.m. and expect to leave there to return to school around 10.30 a.m. If you are meeting us at the Opera House please let your child's teacher or Whaea Sandra know - 027 218 5904.
Have a fantastic day.

This is a quick update about an incident at school this afternoon. Due to the behaviour of a non-Tōtara student, we went into a temporary lockdown. We quickly got support from the police, and were able to move students out of lockdown. It did mean students were late out at the end of the day. We thank you for your support and understanding.
Many thanks
Sandra
Tōtara School Cross Country
As we were unable to run the Zone Cross Country on Monday, we will be having our own event at school tomorrow. We will start at 2.20 p.m. and set up a course around our grounds. This will help determine who we send to the North Otago Cross Country event on Monday but also give students a chance to participate in an event to honour their practices.
We would love you to join us tomorrow from 2.20 p.m to cheer on our amazing students. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing, footwear and a water bottle for the afternoon.
Should you have any questions, contact Mr Rawson on scott@totara.school.nz
